My passion for all things automotive drives me to become an Automotive Designer. My knowledge of automotive technology is both formally acquired through automotive courses in secondary school and self-developed as I spend much of my free time researching automotive technology, be it their external designs or internal mechanics. Having this strong foundation of precedent products allows me to analyze patterns and incorporate particular elements into designs of the future. Additionally, my mechanical knowledge allows me to better understand, consider, and utilize the technical challenges and limitations regarding designing automobiles.

I also consider myself an amateur cosplayer and enjoy translating the concepts and characters I love into physical creations. By studying pre-existing designs, I have been able to hone my skills in converting 2-dimensional artwork into a 3-dimensional space. Furthermore, my experience in creating costumes has given me insight into designing forms around a person. This foundational understanding of ergonomics is advantageous in industrial design, where products need to be conceptualized with the consumer in mind.

Finally, I am currently working towards a diploma in multidisciplinary design at Langara College. My time there has given me valuable knowledge regarding design theory, as well as experience designing at a post-secondary level for real life clients. Most recently, my class designed both a physical and digital exhibit for the Vancouver Maritime Museum. Working with professional clients has given me insight into a design process that involves collaborating with non-designers to achieve overall better results.
